My recommendation for your Linux Distribution

My unabashedly biased recommendation for your Linux Distribution is: Crunchbang Linux or Linux Mint.  Everything else is a waste of time.

Between the two, if you don’t have confidence in your abilities with computers, then use Linux Mint.  If you do have confidence in your abilities with computers and you’re friends with Google, then use Crunchbang.

Why?  They’re both based on Debian’s package repositories which are the best and easiest to use in the Linux community, and they have simple installers with sane defaults and a reasonable default setup.

Let this be the end of your hunt.
